Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)

Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, I have now loved living in Caloundra for over 16 years with my husband, 3 children and our dog. Over the course of my career, I have had a variety of roles within the early childhood sector. These positions include home daycare coordinator, kindergarten teacher and assistant director. Besides working in New Zealand and Australia I have also had the opportunity to work overseas in Hong Kong.

My previous educator and teaching roles have given me an opportunity to develop my philosophy in Early Childhood education – fostering respect of each individual child allowing them to develop and grow at their own pace; offering a child centred approach with a range of opportunities for children to learn through play and exploration; and developing positive relationships with the children within a secure nurturing environment.

On a personal note, I share a passion for the outdoors and natural environment; a love of travel; creating special moments with my family; and spending time at the beach with my dog.
