The Queensland Government introduced a new Kindy Funding Scheme (KFS) on 1 January 2024. Through the KFS, every eligible Kindy aged child* is funded for 15 hours per week for 40 weeks, or 600 hours per year, of free Kindergarten. For the majority of our families, this makes Kindergarten free for their child at our service.
Your child is not eligible to receive free Kindy at our service if:
- They are attending another sessional/community Kindergarten program and you have nominated that Kindy to receive the funding for your child’s free Kindergarten program instead of Kawana Kindy (please note if your child is attending a long day care centre as well as our sessional Kindergarten then the funding will automatically be given to us not the LDC – this is a requirement from the Queensland Government); or
- Your child is not of the eligible Kindy age (in the rare situation where your child may have been offered an early entry enrolment if a spare space has become available and your child has met other requirements allowing them to attend).
Our 2024 Kindergarten program fees are:

*Children of Kindy eligible age are those turning 4 by 30th June in the year they start Kindy.

- Enrolment Levy (a non-refundable fee which confirms your child’s spot) – $100.00
- Membership Fee (a non-refundable fee which each family must pay upfront) – $10.00
